Driver's License/ID Address Changes
If you've moved to a new address—whether within Nevada or to another state— you'll need to notify the DMV within 30 days of the move.
You can make this change either:
- Online.
- By mail.
- By fax.
OR - In person.

Online
You can change your address online using the MyDMV website. If you don't already have an account, you'll need to set one up.
Once you've changed your address online and paid the $4.25 fee, the NV DMV will mail you a corrected driver's license or ID card showing your new address.
By Mail or Fax
To change your address either by mail or fax, you'll need:
- A completed Change of Address Notification by Mail (Form DMV22).
- Payment for the $4.25 fee.
- A copy of your most recent Leave and Earnings Statement, if you are a military member stationed out of state.
- This also applies to your spouse and/or dependents who are out of state with you.
You will receive your updated Nevada driver's license or ID card in the mail within 10 business days.
In Person
To complete a Nevada DMV change of address in person, visit your local NV DMV office and:
- Submit a completed Driver's License, Driver Authorization Card, or Identification Card Application (Form DMV 002E).
- Pay the $4.25 driver's license/ID card fee.
The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will send you your updated driver's license or identification card.
NV Car Registration Address Change
Obtaining an updated car registration certificate showing your new address is optional. You can order an updated registration card either:
- Online.
- By mail.
- By fax.
OR - In person.
If you don't want to pay the fee for an updated registration card, you can simply write your new address on your current certificate.
Online
You can order a replacement registration certificate showing your new address using the MyDMV website. When you change your address on your NV driver's license online, you will be given the option to order an updated registration card for $6.
By Mail or Fax
To change your address on your registration certificate by mail or fax, make sure to check the correct box on the application form when updating your NV driver's license.
You'll need to pay an additional $6 fee for each updated registration card.
In Person
While you're at the NV DMV office changing your address on your driver's license (see above), you can obtain an updated registration certificate showing your new address.
You'll need to pay a $6 fee for each vehicle.
You'll need to wait for your NV driver's license to be mailed to you, but you'll received your updated registration certificate while you're at the DMV office.
